We want to thank Napoleon for joining us this month and wish him much success. He was a blast to hangout with and hope to see much more from him in the future.
Jim McQuaid (no stranger to Second Cinema) and first timer, Jackie Helvey stopped by to talk with Second Cinema about the upcoming Carrboro Film Festival. Jim was a great interview as always and Helvey, co-founder of the film festival, brought a real insight into the formation of this, now in it’s four year, local film festival. We were thrilled to have them both on the show and look forward to this year’s festivities.
Below is the information you need to know as well as our interview with Jim and Jackie, and a trailer for the festival.
YOU can be a part of the 2009 Carrboro Film Festival! The next Carrboro Film Festival will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 2-7pm. We are now accepting film submissions. The early deadline is August 28, 2009. The late deadline is September 21, 2009. We have reduced submission fees this year and are offering cash prizes! Click here for complete submission information and forms. We can’t wait to see YOUR movie!
And keeping with the festival, we also had the pleasure of sitting down with this year’s Director of The Carrboro Film Festival, Selena Lauterer. She was a delight to speak with and gave us the inside track on what to expect this year. It really looks like this could be the best year yet for the festival, so even if you are not submitting, we implore you to head over to Carrboro and support our filmmakers and watch some great local films.
Remember, you too can be seen across the state of North Carolina if you appear on Second Cinema. We are always looking for special guests and films, so if you, or someone you know, would like to come on the show/submit your film/trailer/music video, please fill out the forms and submit. As always, thanks for watching!
